Virgin Media isn't that good in my opinion, but that seems to be just in my area.
Yea it depends on your area, my wifi with them is pretty good, only downside is it fluctuate quite a bit from time to time
yea, my mates getting about 120+ on WiFi and I'm getting about 30 with ethernet (though it is powerline)

I'm sitting here with 4 mbps down/1 mbps up for years (~70$/m - Internet only) and I have no problem.
