RE: 400 million dollars. - Naho - 05-15-2016 I'd purchase an above average house (nothing fancy), a few nice cars (not sports cars, again nothing fancy just nice cars with good mileage), set up a college funds for future kids, another savings for utilities, car repairs, house repairs, emergencies, etc. Then I think I'd purchase some land (invest in), and then start a "green" movement. Planting trees, protecting reserves, invest in startups looking to use there inventions to help the environment like ships, and liners that drag and catch plastic pollution in the ocean, you get what I mean. I wouldn't do stupid shit like most of you, take a little, and give back. RE: 400 million dollars. - Red_mybb_import25644 - 05-15-2016 Can any of you guys actually think before you say how you will spend this money? You can't buy a house/land in two days. In the U.K. You can buy a house pretty quickly depending on how willing the owner is to sell it. Put your money in a bank so it's verified, then buy a house with a cab in hand payment using a bank transfer, and viola you own a house RE: 400 million dollars. - Red_mybb_import25644 - 05-15-2016 (05-15-2016, 07:40 AM)Jebusfathead Wrote: In the U.K. You can buy a house pretty quickly depending on how willing the owner is to sell it. It's not as simple as simple as buying every day items. Also varies if it's a private sale or tender. If you're a first time buyer it's best to get all of the reports done and have the house inspected, I personally get all properties that i have brought inspected. Most people also need a home loan so there is all of that to look into. Verifying things with the banks can take time, then you need to wait for the owner of the property to actually accept your offer and that can take awhile depending on what they are wanting and the other offers. Also as weird as it sounds the season/time of the year can also play effect on how fast the house will be sold. The U.K. Basically made houses easy to buy because we've got so many housing problems, so buying actual land to build a house comes with planning permission already completed, and the same goes for buying a house. Although it probably would take more than like a week, it's relatively easy if you've got the money and look into want to buy schemes etc |
