Tongue
If such a thing exists then yes. Precisely.

coding is a craft as an artform you can get down to a science through engineering to solve problems except instead of using materials like wood and steel youre using the logic of your thoughts represented as words which are the computable solutions through understanding of the fundamentals of a technology, and a formalized measure of the efficient ways of doing a specific task becomes a scientific methodology that measures a skill of expression to show the process much like a writer with a story, or a public speaker, each has mastered expression but unlike these serves a functional purpose rendering it a craft.

Coding to me is a hobby, but it's also more than just a hobby. It's art. I love seeing something I scripted actually turn into something. I can't help but marvel at my script sometimes because to be honest, it's beautiful. The more your code/script is organized, the more artful it is and I think that's really great. I only know HTML, CSS, jQuery and a little PHP. But there's beauty behind a website and that's the script that made the website. I honestly can't stand messy code/script, it makes me feel like they took advantage of it and can't see the real beauty of coding. But I also think coding has a purpose when it's used for criminal activities, it's still beautiful, but frowned upon a lot of the times. I think one trait a person needs to be a good coder/scripter is perfectionism. I love everything about scripting, the trial and error, the challenges, the research that needs to be done, and the creativity needed to actually make something. But all of this is just my opinion.

Going through spaghetti code is like torture for the soul. There's only so much a human can take before he goes completely bonkers.

I think this is why many programmers have already transcended 'completely bonkers'. Some of us just want some semblance of sanity in a world where it's sometimes hard to find any Tongue

No,

one who has not known the insanity of asm has not ever been brave enough to venture into the depths of the 9th level of hell, or didn't have the power to climb themselves out of the hole back up again.

Coding is a hobby to me. But it could also be a way to make some money. Smile
