You may be different, did you try looking up some sites that teach to code?
That's why I mentioned maybe college be better. I have self taught myself web development and so I thought it would be just as easy for me to learn. I already completed the course in Codecademy for Java, I just need to actually make something now. Some things I learn better in a classroom than over the internet and this /could/ be one, but it also may be just me not finding good content.

Same here. I've wanted to learn a programming language, but I've had trouble figuring it out on my own. I also use CodeCademy, but it only teaches so much. I started with Java also, but decided ultimately to start with Python, since it's so widely used. I even took java 2 semesters in school, and I still can't even remember the basics for shit. It gets really confusing.
