Cops have their guns as a last resort but they don't use it as a last resort thats the first thing they pull out.

Such as a pistol or a super tazor.

Exactly, the world is a different place now and very bad people are out there looking to do harm. They need to be able to protect the citizens from mass shootings and terrorist attacks. I do not think some pepper spray will do that.
Pistols with rubber bullets would be fine for regular things.
For things like that, they should carry real bullets as well.

@Google they have to be allowed to carry guns first to have the capability to use runner bullets, you know.

I support UK and USA police having guns, but NOT having military equipment.
There is a difference between police officers and soldiers, and we should segregate it.
They have surplus equipment bought from the Pentagon.
It just to be a guy in a blue shirt, and black pants with a revolver, now there is a guy full tactical uniform
looking like a Navy Seal. Which is completely unnecessary.

We have a law in the US called Posse Comitatus, which makes actions like those unconstitutional.

I don't understand why our society (USA) is so violent
Police has always been violent since the 196 0's era, but the difference is that we have social media.

For the left and right: Guns will never be banned, and Abortion will never be banned.
& it's something we must accept in life, if you like it or not.

Nah cops shouldn't carry guns. Where I live they have guns, but they can only use it as a last resort. If cop kills here someone it will be investigated closely as normal murder, so they don't just kill for fun.

I believe in the U.S when cops have to shoot and kill a person. That death is is investigated as a murder if I am not mistaken.

They should be able to carry a gun, though not shoot under any circumstances unless their life is at stake.

I believe with the correct training and expertise, police officers can carry tazors and batons etc.

Yes that's true, and in the U.S with specialized training. They can carry military grade assault rifles. Is there a need for those, maybe. But for sure not for everyday use.
