An example would be though on original xbox you could play live right?
but you can't play live with other 360's if you're using older games if i'm not mistaken?

One thing which Sony have done is made it so you could download the games from the store for the previous consoles, so that you can still access them; I'm pretty sure this is what Microsoft already do anyway? Don't see why they should change that?

Yes in that case no you can not. However I hope they don't take route.
