It seemed that you were disappointed at the fact that no one disagreed with you, so here goes. These two points are the only things I disagree with.

Yeah, let's make available and legalize drugs that have more carcinogens than cigarettes[1] (not saying cigarettes aren't bad), cause brain abnormalities[2], and cause men to be less fertile[3] (not like a weeb would ever be having sex anyways)!

Before you pull the argument that cannabis kills cancer cells, let me tell you that I guarantee that's not the reason you're smoking it for.

Face it, you are a depressed lonely junkie teen who wants to be able to be like the cool kids without feeling like a criminal for it. Too bad for you that Bernie Sanders isn't winning the primaries.

You fail to note that cigarettes also have 7000 chemicals that you probably won't find in any joint[1]. Few people smoke 5-20 joints even in a week, but I know of many that smoke 5-20 cigarettes daily. Your first source fails to establish what method people used to smoke. This is critical, because the method of smoking makes a difference in lung health. It's also worth questioning if the government is responsible for your lung health.

An unfiltered joint is definitely more harmful than a cigarette, as the amount of tar is significantly increased (as the smoke goes straight to the lungs). Regular hand pipes are just as bad (and possibly worse), although many use them for tobacco too. Water pipes can eliminate some of the tar intake (since the smoke travels through water) and vaporizers produce even less tar (since the plant isn't even combusted). Like with nicotine, you can control how much tar you intake.

Your second source is covering people that are smoking abnormally large amounts (">10 years", ">5 joints daily") of cannabis. Despite that, it fails to establish how the brain changes are considered "damaging" and doesn't prove that users are impaired. Studies have suggested a correlation between less grey matter/increased connection[2], but never a difference/correlation with intelligence or IQ[3]. Fertility isn't even worth discussing, as cigarettes and other products/pharmaceuticals also lower fertility (and aren't illegal).

Also, you assume I'm "a depressed lonely junkie teen who wants to be able to be like the cool kids without feeling like a criminal for it", but that's just rude (and ad hominem). We're discussing the legality of cannabis (among other drugs) -- let's be mature about it.

By all means have opposing views, that's totally fair. But don't be an ass about it. It just makes you look bad for the sake of it. People will respect you more if you don't feel the need to do that. You could have just said, most people talk about it's medical benefits but few actually are smoking it for those reasons. It's a good point.

Sorry for being so rude in my last post, don't know what got into me. I'm usually focused on logic but my past personality is still alive I guess? Anyways -

As previously stated, I am not saying that cigarettes aren't bad. Furthermore, I mentioned carcinogens, not just any chemical. Carcinogens are cancer-causing agents, which are more prevalent in cannabis smoke when compared to tobacco smoke. Although my cited source does not state the method used to smoke, it is talking about cannabis smoke and tobacco smoke, which you will be inhaling regardless of how you smoke either. The point is that cannabis smoke contains more carcinogens than tobacco smoke.

I will not dump an entire lecture of neuroscience out of my bootyhole to explain to you why reduction in the size of the amygdala (am I the only one who plays Bloodborne here?) and hippocampus can indeed damage your mental health, you can research that yourself. That article was not written for people who do not know neuroscience. Moreover, I'm not sure if you missed it or simply didn't want to read it, but it definitely says "...heavy daily cannabis use across protracted periods exerts harmful effects on brain tissue and mental health" in the conclusion section. Regardless of the frequency of smoking, I stated that it causes brain abnormalities (and nothing more), which I cited my source for evidence on. For more support towards my point, the source does clearly say that it's harmful. Ultimately, my point still stands.

Quote:Fertility isn't even worth discussing, as cigarettes and other products/pharmaceuticals also lower fertility (and aren't illegal).

I fail to see how fertility isn't worth mentioning, but we'll play by your rules this time. I also stated in my previous post that I'm not saying cigarettes aren't bad. I definitely disagree with the fact that they are legal, but there is hardly anything I can do about that. The best I can do right now is combat people who now want cannabis to be legal.
