RE: Religion - Tupac - 02-20-2013 I have been raised to be Christian but I myself am an Atheist. I just think that religion is a story told to kids when they are younger just to behave and shit etc. RE: Religion - TheRealGamerAnthony - 02-20-2013 I wasn't brought up to a religion to be honest. RE: Religion - Spire_CnC - 02-20-2013 I wasn't raised going to church everyday and such like other people. So I'm kinda the same, but I'm also open to whoever does believe, and won't put down anyone for thinking or believing. If you do believe in it and it's not true, well at least you had inspiration in life. I am not a strong religious person who goes to church every Sunday, heck, I haven't been to church in over 10 years. I just believe, just because, what if it is true. same here, but I am a muslim, that's the difference. RE: Religion - Flashdrive - 02-21-2013 I do not believe in religion and i'm a hard core Atheist or Anti-Theist depends really. I believe that the chances of a God being there are so low and unneeded it would be honestly foolish to believe in such a thing. I think most people only believe in it because they're born into it and raised with that belief style. If you want an example look at North Korea and how brainwashed all of it's people are but when we look at it from the outside you wonder how people could be so gullible. That is what I see when I look at religious people. I don't mean to offend anyone but that's my outlook on the whole thing. I have no problem with religious people and don't base religion off my friendships that I make. I also hope that their isn't a God because most seem to be very rash and horrible look at this world and the power he/they gave us. You're using an already proven and flawed reasoning called Pascal's Wager If you think of it logically also if a God does exist would he not see that you're only believing in them because you want to get in heaven rather than not believing in them at all. Putting you at an even worse risk of going to hell for doing this? RE: Religion - Beaker - 02-21-2013 No? I believe in him just because, what if it is true. I never said "I believe in him so, in case there is Heaven, I will go." RE: Religion - Flashdrive - 02-21-2013 (02-21-2013, 11:14 PM)Beaker Wrote: No? I believe in him just because, what if it is true. I never said "I believe in him so, in case there is Heaven, I will go." Than please tell me what this means. "I do believe in it. My reasoning is, why not. If it is true, then you do go to Heaven." Also if you believe just because what if it is true than it's not really believing and what ever God if they end up being real does exist you're going to get caught. RE: Religion - Beaker - 02-21-2013 You over think things way to much man. "I do believe in it. My reasoning is, why not. If it is true, then you do go to Heaven." is the same as "I do believe in bigfoot. My reasoning is, why not. If he is true, then he actually exists." My reason for saying I believe in God is "why not". Not "I believe in him, because if he is real I will go to Heaven." When believing a religion you must follow it's customs and believe in it's teachings. Most religions teaching go against everything science says which means your believing in something ignorant just "because". That's like saying "I believe space fire-breathing unicorns are real because there's a chance it might be real". |
