RE: Use cleaner words on bans - Lain - 10-24-2015 I agree with this completely, I was perm banned for a few months without even knowing what I'd done, with the ban reason "Finger slipped". Oni couldn't even remember why he'd banned me when I talked to him about it around a week ago. I think a clear ban reason would help remove confusion. RE: Use cleaner words on bans - Eclipse - 10-24-2015 I have a tendency to not bother too much with bots and carders ban reasons, since they're never really going to read them. I agree with this suggestion, it really helps knowing the reason why a certain member got banned without asking through PM or something. Maybe, but for others, they might be genuinely interested in why people were banned, especially if they were close to them. For example, I didn't know @Edward that well, but they seemed alright and wasn't offensive, a troll, or an overall douche. They posted somewhat often in the NSFW lounge, but their ban doesn't state what exactly they did other than "Go to Jail." I don't know about others, but for real users I always put a proper reason. Mom was banned for spamming. Shame, we had some nice debates. Personally, I'm a bit critical of permabans since they tend to be lifted on a whim - I know a LOT of people who've been "permabanned" and ended up returning less than a month later. Temp bans almost feel more sincere, in that aspect. RE: Use cleaner words on bans - dotcppfile - 10-24-2015 No one gets banned instantly on sinister.ly, whoever got banned was because he was trash posting, carding, trolling for months, spamming like a bitch for days, etc, they all get warned in a reply to their main posts that is related to this stuff that I just mentioned, @Eclipse @roger_smith can support this statement because it is true, I've seen their posts, so did everyone else. Whoever got banned knows why he got it, staff on sinister.ly don't just ban you for months because you broke some silly rules, it's because you fucked up pretty badly, didn't take the warnings seriously and got your ass whooped right after that. The reasons don't matter much, I mean, posts on this thread been saying the reason should be a lesson for whoever got banned, but nah lol, just like I said, whoever got banned already knows why he got it. As for the random banning that I've seen on this posts, which means that some people are indirectly saying that the staff are banning randomly or whatever, then it's wrong, I know the staff, well I think I do, and they're so committed to helping sinister.ly in a way or another and the last thing they want to do is ban someone that doesn't deserve it, we're all looking for good people and good content, these people won't get banned for no reason, again, whoever got banned deserved it. I think we should all stop posting these "Staff" stuff, our staff knows what they're doing, they've been doing it for years and any old fag would support their actions, we should just let them do their thing. |
