RE: Building your own version - chmod - 06-20-2014 Yes that's the thing that let's Kali (and most pen testing distros down, stability) there are fixes for a lot of issues already out there so have a search through the Kali forums. Just FYI I wouldn't really recommend this as a daily OS for that reason. RE: Building your own version - Isaac - 06-20-2014 If you want to make your own custom Linux Distro, then try this : http://Susestudio.com RE: Building your own version - BlueCat - 06-20-2014 (06-20-2014, 06:41 PM)chmod Wrote: Yes that's the thing that let's Kali (and most pen testing distros down, stability) there are fixes for a lot of issues already out there so have a search through the Kali forums. I was using uniscan on Kali to test on my site and suddenly it crashed I was like what the fuck, I might change it RE: Building your own version - chmod - 06-20-2014 (06-20-2014, 07:09 PM)BlueCat Wrote:(06-20-2014, 06:41 PM)chmod Wrote: Yes that's the thing that let's Kali (and most pen testing distros down, stability) there are fixes for a lot of issues already out there so have a search through the Kali forums. When something like this happens it's important to be as detailed as you possibly can. Post the contents of any log files mentioned (obviously remove any IP addresses or other identifying information) exactly what you did and any output. This way we can help you a lot more efficiently rather then asking for details or providing solutions that are irrelevant. I was testing uniscan on a site of mine, But then when it got to a bit where it said "Crawling" kali crashed, the mouse would not show up so I had to shut it down, Thats pretty much it RE: Building your own version - chmod - 06-20-2014 That's very strange, has it happened more than once. If so I'll boot into kali and test it see what I can come up with RE: Building your own version - BlueCat - 06-20-2014 (06-20-2014, 08:07 PM)chmod Wrote: That's very strange, has it happened more than once. The only thing I can think of is your VM settings. try allocating more resources to it and try again.
