RE: [Release] Image Editor V0.4 - hellomen - 09-12-2013

Nope. Even though its not nercesarry to ask it since a coder never gives it out since crackheads would instantly know how to get the sources

RE: [Release] Image Editor V0.4 - chmod - 09-12-2013

What's wrong with sharing the source? Devs give out source code all the time, ever heard of the open source project?

RE: [Release] Image Editor V0.4 - hellomen - 09-12-2013

But what about if i dont want too i never give out projects if you want to know how to make such than get known into bitmapping and gdi+

They don't need to know the language in order to do so. Especially if it is a .NET assembly, which makes incredibly easy.

This is your choice, but it is not a hacker's attitude.

that's what I meant if they want it they have to do something for it and find it out theirselves

I am not even a hacker not even close to..
check my profile it says: programming & not a hacker Wink

Exactly. I was not trying to push you into releasing your source, indeed, but if you asked me, that's what I'd say.

I really believe that bitmapping and GDI+ have got barely anything to do with source recovering. However, this looked a bit like a .NET app to me (really didn't download it and check it out so far, I was just trying a guess based upon the screenshots), but after reading your post about C/C++/C# under /5 programming languages everyone should know/, I'd better go for VB.NET.

GDI+ is a C/C++ API, and so, what have you got to do with it?

Exactly again.

Exactly (how much wisdom in this forum). I was not trying to push you into releasing your source code, but you said that programmers do not release their code (you said they never even say the language that's coded in, which is not true, of course).

Indeed it is a hacker attitude to release it.

I'm not even going to wonder why.

If you don't want to release the source code, well, I'm not going to force you, you just can't say it's a common dev habit (however, it would be nice if you released the source, I mean, this is free for download, you're not gettting anything from it anyway, why not releasing the source? that's no difference).

I'll find out some time to feed this back (I still need to do a few things, first, some challenge left undone, some Deque's project to feedback, et cetera).

GDI+ is a Windows API. .NET has Graphic class that wrap around GDI+.

check out my profile. I am still not a hacker and still don't want to be one...

aswell as You don't need to be a hacker/want to be a hacker to join such forums...

GDI+ is a Windows API. .NET has Graphic class that wrap around GDI+.
GDI (+) is aswell known into vb.net using the graphical content

so either you use it in the language c/c++ or vb.net we all call it the same GDI/GDI+

for the rest I guess the what's the language and release sources posts are answered...

I almost never tell the language unless it's a tutorial.
I almost never release sources of my projects unless it's a tutorial project.
I almost never make tutorials unless it's usefull for someone.
I am NOT a hacker.
I do NOT want to be a hacker.

It is debatable whether a wrapper of something is something. By your logic, OpenTK
should be called OpenGL because it is a wrapper of OpenGL. Or UnrealEngine should be
called OpenGL or DirectX because it is a wrapper of DirectX with additional features.

From what I can see, no one here is pushing you to release your source code.
@noize only asked which language you use and actually, you have answered this
question by yourself already. It is either VB.NET or C# since you are posting
your project in "Visual Basic and .NET Framework Family".

Quote:I almost never release sources of my projects unless it's a tutorial project.

It is your choice, but from my point of view, there are a lot of benefits by
releasing your source code if you are still new to programming because you
can have people review your code, give feedback what to improve.

Of course, I do have some closed-source projects that I wouldn't
release my source code since it is where I make money from. However,
I do release my personal project source code to the wild and lets
people review my code.

okay let's get the facts straight:
From what I can see, no one here is pushing you to release your source code.

neither he did I said I won't say it because there are crackheads and if they want to know such they have to learn GDI(+) AND bitmapping

Of course, I do have some closed-source projects that I wouldn't

that's your decission I am not a coder that have to make money from codes In fact I am programming for 1,5 year now in this language and I never ever sold any script/source code I made into it.

the only thing I take care off is making a BIT of extra with the release (using adf.ly)
