I use Ubuntu on my pc mostly, because i have found trust in Ubuntu, haven't tried any else linux distro yet and don't really want to ;P I actually prefer Ubuntu a bit over Windows (not speaking about gaming now ;D), because on my machin, Ubuntu runs faster and smoother that Windows, and as i know, Linux is more secure than Windows ;D

I have my laptop running OS X 10.8, with another partition with Ubuntu Linux 12.04. Also, I have a 10GB virtual-machine with Backtrack 5 R3, which I quite frankly don't like.

Are we talking about OS for daily use or for hacking? Because I can't believe that someone uses BT as main OS.

Personally, as main OS I have Debian Testing for the same reasons Grell told about SID, but Testing is a bit more stable (I don't need to have the latest of the latest packages)

Then I have some VM's, one with BT5 R3 for pentesting, one with Windows 7, and then some many others as a pentester lab (windows server 2012, xp, another windows 7 and a lm 14, openSUSE 12.2)

We are in a hacking forum. I guess that he is talking about an hacking distro ... As main OS I just use Windows

my most used is windows 7. it was dual booted with bt5, but i deleted that and installed on a 160Gb vm when r3 came out. i also have Ubuntu 12.04, cinnamon mint, mac os x lion, windows xp, and windows 8 in vm's but none of those are primary. i use windows as my primary for now just because i game on steam and not all of my games are available on linux yet (although they're working on it.) Maybe when that happens I'll be a full time linux user, probably mint mate or whatever the newest ubuntu is.

oh and i also have old versions of dsl, puppy, and knoppix laying around on live cd's somewhere.

I prefer BackBox, It's lighter than Backtrack and might lack some tools that BT has but I feel very comfortable using it Smile
