Currently using Ubuntu Server, and I'm happy with it for now

I bet you don't even know :-/. You just mentioned it because it's what you heard perhaps? And "Too much to type."? You can hardly even construct proper full sentences, so by these demonstrated standards, "too much" could be not so much or very little if anything at all.
Linux distro's and BSD derivatives are closely similar. Linux is still fairly secure, are you saying it is not? How about reliability? Linux is still very reliable as far as hosting a server goes, and it can withstand still, considerable amounts of traffic...
And it depends on what you want, there is no one answer to this in my opinion.
Either way if you want security as your main priority I would suggest OpenBSD. Debian is a great Linux alternative as well. Do you have any experience at all with hosting your own server? And "They all suck. None."--Surely you must have tried ALL of the available Linux distro's then to be able to say that am I right? Well then lets hear about your experiences with ALL of them, do tell.

BSD's jails do make it easier to be more secure, but if you are smart enough to use a jail you can probably make any server you use run under a user that can't access anything it doesn't need to.

In my opinion, regardless of what you use, it's only as secure as you make it. You still have responsibility there, it's not like just because you're using BSD that it will be the best, and if you're using Windows it will be the worst... It depends on how you have things set up. That's something that a lot more people should understand, but some don't.

Use Debian. It's much nicer than CentOS in terms of actually fucking having software in the default repos, and easier to use than Arch.

I agree with this.
I usually use Debian for my servers but an Ubuntu server isn't that bad either and seems to be used quite a lot.

Do you have any Linux experience?
Go with CentOS if you are new to Linux or if you know your way around a CLI then go with a distro you are familiar with (for example, Debian or whatever).
