RE: My new workplace [Video] - Frooxius - 04-14-2012 It's a standard laptop cooler pad. I don't know what are you referring to by "two large motherboards". Do you mean that device next to my laptop? I don't see why it would be ironic, since there's not really any link between my avatar and my pet cat. Also, it's not exactly a dog :3 RE: My new workplace [Video] - TOP. - 04-14-2012 Yes, the device connected to the laptop. I don't know usually I find those avatars referring to some sort of love :3 Animal love <3 RE: My new workplace [Video] - TOP. - 04-14-2012 Yes, the device connected to the laptop. It contains FPGA chip (Field Programmable Gate Array) and various peripherals, plus I have an LCD touch display connected to its GPIO port. FPGA is capable of synthesizing digital circuits, like various controllers, processors, MCU's, graphic chips, data processing logic and pretty much anything else. I use it to design and synthesize my own processors that I am developing, so I have them as a physical hardware. You usually design the circuits using HDL languages like Verilog or VHDL. I'll basically synthesize there my architecture called 2DWPU (more on it here , check also the other one - AttoWPU) on this device and I can use it for demonstration, with a program I wrote for the architecture using my programming language, for example at Intel press conference that I'll attend next week and at Intel ISEF science fair in Pittsburgh in May. No, my avatar is my fursona. RE: My new workplace [Video] - Frooxius - 04-14-2012 That device is not a motherboard, it's an FPGA development board. RE: My new workplace [Video] - Frooxius - 04-15-2012 Which one? It's kind of low level language (assembler), but different from regular assembler, because the architecture it's for is experimental and explores new approaches to programming. I'll release more about it after the presentation at Intel ISEF, including development tools and a compiler and possibly also the IP core for logic synthesis.
