They are good but WHEN I get the funds I will start paying for VPN. need that extra security.

In my opinion don't pay for them. I think its just a waist of money.Most free VPNs keep logs of true IP addresses that can be resolved if queried, while paid VPNs will also be logged, by the VPN themselves if not then by their ISP. So i don't see a point to use a paid vpn.And if you r not doning something really bad then i think a free VPN is enough..
For Blackhat activity, you should use an IP that you don't need to disguise because it cannot be traced to you or your home, such as public wi-fi, stolen wi-fi etc..
