There Is no "better", but more so what you perform and expect from your day to day computational tasks.
The Windows platform suffices my needs, hence It's my choice.

According to me , Windows is better than linux because :
1.It has a tons of options(better) than linux
2.It's good error handler
3.You can make Virtual Machine and use both softwares.
4.Your data is more protected..

Coming to hacking, you can run most of the stuff on Windows that you can run on Linux, I've seen some real badass hackers who have found vulnerabilities in some good famous sites and they don't use any other OS than Windows. Backtrack is the only useful thing you might find as a hacker since it has most of the "hacking" stuff configured and ready to use.
I'm not saying Linux not a good OS just saying its not a better os than Windows both have their own benefits and drawbacks.
I agree. I love the way Linux looks and feels, also so original to hack and program with, but Windows still kicks ass. XP also feels original so I'm not the one to complain.
