I dont know if I misunderstood your post or not, but I am pretty sure that you can own houses without being a patron, but you cannot claim the land.

3 of my friends liked the game so much they bought the $150 package and are playing it as we speak
I will be trying it out when it is officially launched for everybody.

It is a subscription. And no it shouldn't be like Rift. Then you will have an entire army of children ruining the late game/paid for content. People need to realize that the developers need to make money with this stuff, and they're not just going to give you everything that is fun just so you can enjoy the game. The make you pay for the fun stuff because if you pay and all you get is a cape or two and double XP nobody will buy it. If they just said "Here you guys go, we don't want any money we want you people to just enjoy the game!" then there would be no game industry. tl;dr don't be a bum, get a job and pay for stuff if you want it, not everything is free.

Rift changed from subscription into a free to play to make more money. Obviously people would buy it. Its the only mmorpg i ever spent money. Also what "/paid for content." are you talking about?

Paid for content is being able to own a functioning house and be able to farm and whatnot on it which is probably one of the biggest things in ArcheAge. There are tons upon tons of more things to do but that is probably the main one for me when you're a Patron.

I was pumped for this game waited for it but when it came out it was disappointing did not like it at all...
So I am waiting now for Black Desert.
While waiting can recommend playing Tera Rising ^^

Normally, if you haven't heard of it much, it won't be any good. That is, unless it's a hidden gem, or you have a personal liking for it.

Probably, I started to play from Tera Rising have not played old one so can't tell.

You are all a dissapointment to talk to and am therefore shaming all who "gave the game a chance" [hahahaha, fucking funny, you just went off shitty reviews] I was there since day 1 alpha, loved it from the start, @CaringRaven a F2P player also enjoys this game a ton despite it's limit on his playing ability there is still tons to do [eg. party boats], honestly, I hate when people turn on the game, play it for 5 minutes at max and say it was bad because some big famous guy on YouTube said it was bad

Yeah i heard all of the bad reviews and was a bit put off, yes they have some valid points the labor system and no farms for f2p is annoying but it barely scratches the polish of this game. It is really well built and you can get p2p status without paying a cent you can buy patron status for 2400 credits aka 2 apex on most servers that is 100 gold for a month of patron. The game is great give it a proper try and you may like what you see.
