They made me try other instruments too, like the trumpet and other brass instruments. Though, after I explicitly told them it just wasn't in my interests, they stopped the lessons. It only took four years(!). I do want to learn other instruments though, like the guitar or something acoustic. Okay, so you're expected to learn an instrument... that's interesting, since my family raised me up very open-mindedly... Anyway, I think I'll make a thread about this

That's nice, and seems to be the trend with people who play video games. RE: Gaming effects - PremiumEvans - 05-25-2014 it depends how long you actually play them for RE: Gaming effects - MiS - 05-25-2014 (05-25-2014, 07:25 PM)PremiumEvans Wrote: it depends how long you actually play them for Mind expanding on what you mean by that? What do you think the detrimental or beneficial effects are of playing too long, or even just for a short time? RE: Gaming effects - Losi - 05-26-2014 I personally play about 2-3 hours of videogames on PC a night. My handwriting has become very twitchy, my eyesight has become more accustomed to different shades of grey (COD), can sense more levels of light (again COD), and i now have very mild arthritis. I used to get cramped wrists from writing essays, both on Word and on paper, but after gaming for a few hours a night, it has beefed up my wrists and fingers. I also jump to conclusions much faster, i mostly play COD and Battlefield, both of which require fast reaction times and really changed the way I think. My hand-eye reaction speed is through the roof compared to normal people my age and i have turned into a much more quiet person than i used to be. I still love to hang with friends and play sports,i havent let videogames ruin my social life. Actually about half of my lifetime friends i have met on the internet through gaming. Over all, video games haven't helped my life out much, except i can see the grey scale much easier and i can quick scope someone. Kinda sad actually.... RE: Gaming effects - Losi - 05-26-2014 Im not particularly more impulsive just less time is made from decisions. I still take time to make sure the decisions are correct. Its just more refined. But yes I would say I am more impulsive though. Yeah, impulsiveness was one of the impacts I noticed gaming had on me. |
