I think this is a really good idea. It helped me once when someone else was accessing one of my accounts.

Alternatively, the user with access to your account will get ahold of your own IP address.

However what's the most likely way for a user to get access to your account here if guessing your password isn't going to work? Probably a RAT or Keylogger, and if they've gotten that far they will have already had your IP address. So that can't be the biggest of worries.
I see it as a functional tool, very lightweight and easy for users to use. It's helped me in the past not only as a user of a forum but also an administrator
It doesn't get in the way and to be honest I like it's basic appearance in the UserCP.
