Probably because of the comlaints & etc. Some kid killed his brother over the game, I wouldn't be surprised that he took it down after getting flack from that situtation.

The app itself was free, all the revenue was coming from in-game ads, so this move wouldn't make sense.

The developer apparently cracked under the pressure. He was stressed out by how the game was making people react towards it and himself, so he plugged the 50k per day income plug. That was so clever of him, wasn't it? It was his decision anyway. While the game is gone from app stores, it can still be played by people that have it on their phones. Heck, there's already a new version of this game getting bigger called Clumsy Bird.

I have heard Flappy Bird was the popular game right there and the next thing I know it is being taken away from the App Store. I wonder what's the reason behind that, but it perhaps he makes too much money and there's something legal issues going on.
