RE: Microsoft Considered Going Discless For the Xbox One - Linkzelda - 01-10-2014 Considering how the PS Now would incorporate over-the-cloud networking for itself and previous consoles like the PS3, I won’t be too surprised if Microsoft is aiming for this. Especially considering the fact that the disk sizes and storage space for next-gen consoles are fairly limited at the moment. For the time being however, I highly doubt people have to worry about being picky on the space constraints until more games are released for this year and beyond. Doing things over the cloud obviously can pose risks such as latency, glitches, hacks, and all sorts of negative aspects that can definitely induce a lot of negative customer feedback. However, weighing the circumstances with low storage (until more renovations are made for larger storage space in the future), things like this may be needed. I hope they go with this, and it’s not like Microsoft doesn’t have the funding to sustain this in the first place. It just means more activity from them, which hopefully means more delegation is done to satisfy people quickly that will make online communities better and more gregarious. RE: Microsoft Considered Going Discless For the Xbox One - Singularity - 01-10-2014 I would actually like this. Make it like USB's instead of discs. |
