I don't see Microsoft filing bankruptcy any time soon. They made a few mistakes with Windows 8, but prior to it they had a pretty flawless track record. Unless game publishers start making their games for Linux, I doubt it will happen. I'm still somewhat of a gamer, so Windows is my primary operating system.

I feel MS are still making a great profit. They may not be #1 for much longer, but they'll be financial giants for the foreseeable future. W8 was a bust, but I'm sure they'll catch on. Every company has bust products. It's just how they pick themselves up.

Its called cracked....

As for OP:

Windows will NEVER simply "go down", it will always be the most used type of computer, Linux is only used by people who actually know their way around a computer.

It is not cracked, I downloaded it from Microsoft. As for your second statement, that is debatable. My aunt, who has never used a computer, has received a refurbished, by me, lap-top. I installed Linux on it, and have been training her to use it. She is defiantly not a person who knows anything about computers.

1st, I was talking to Johnny xD

2nd, Ok, thats one person, what about the millions of people simply clicking and typing letters on a window machine to go to facebook? Thats what majority of internet users use the internet for, socializing.

I think someone said "Legal". I don't think cracks are legal. Cool Also isn't there that non-genuine windows prompted?

I never said anything about Microsoft going bankrupt, they have more than just Windows to make profit.

I don't have a crack, I have a legally downloaded OS from Microsoft.com. It's just I had a special licence to get it free.

Windows won't leave the market unless they go bankrupt or lose a LOT. And they do have a lot more. They have Microsoft computers and various programs.

You can never know anything for certain. The way I think it'll happen is eventually Microsoft will make their own Linux OS (Free, but not open-source). The way they'll keep making money is by selling a Office platform for Linux, and making a officially supported Wine by Microsoft. But, that's only my foresight.

Microsoft also has Xbox. That sure is making a hell of a lot of money.

I don't really see the point. Windows OS users are increasing. Linux OS users are too, and greater in percentage to current users compared to Windows, but still, Windows is raking in a lot more users compared to Linux...

Of course windows will go down, but Google's just going to take its place. I think it's all just part of the life cycle of a bushiness:
Great idea, go big, make tons of money
Become large, bloated, and expensive
Get beaten out but by smaller, cheaper, better quality competition
