Mint isn't different from Ubuntu except the user interface, and a lot of people hate it I don't know why though. But yeah I agree with you there, Ubuntu is overrated. RE: Ubuntu noobish? - Sabu - 03-31-2013 I used to use Ubuntu for a while even though I'm quite familiar with Linux and I can honestly say you don't learn much from using it. You realize that once you install something nicer such as Debian that actually requires you to hop straight into the terminal to install drivers or such things. Ubuntu is made for people new to Linux and it does what it's supposed to but you actually learn nothing. So if you just want a Windows equivalent on Linux go with Ubuntu and make it do everything for you so you learn nothing or get something nice such as Debian and actually learn more about command line and the true power of Linux and the command line. RE: Ubuntu noobish? - n3cr0m4nc3r - 04-01-2013 I have both Ubuntu 12.04 and Win7.... Win7 for gaming Ubuntu for the rest RE: Ubuntu noobish? - Complibur - 04-01-2013 Ubuntu 10.04 is awesome ! I love that old gnome look ! |
