RE: Designify | Smud Signature - Valentino - 11-17-2013 I agree this signature would look great with some more contrast, it'd really make the colours and shadows pop more. Adding a high pass filter on soft light with the opacity adjusted would add a nice touch imo without overdoing it and making the colours too blinding. High Pass really helps with the shadows. I think adding some Light Effects would look good too, and would add nice flow to the overall lighting. Love the colours though, they work really well together and the smudge work is great - very nice and smooth Nice work on the text too! Fits in really well.

Psssssst! I used High Pass with Soft Light and low Opacity on this signature.. RE: Designify | Smud Signature - Soup - 11-17-2013 You need to work on the lighting more and defining the smudge more. It looks kind of weird. Like it's getting there but it needs to be more developed with flow and technique. Next to that, you should work on the blending of the render. I'm not much of a fan on all the colors used, the borders(personal preference), and the text, but that's just me. If you want, here's a few smudging tutorials I've picked up that may help you out (: http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2013/298/e/2/knight_smudge_2_by_gooberfx-d6rrd6o.png < example sig http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/317/c/1/smudge_emblem_by_aoi_heart-d6u3on5.png < example sig http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2013/313/b/4/watch_dogs_smudge_by_thunderbr-d6tlwrz.png < example sig http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/247/0/9/smudge_guide_by_darkneji12-d5dd7xg.png < tutorial - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PS, you should post your works in the group forum ~ RE: Designify | Smud Signature - Kureo - 11-17-2013 (11-17-2013, 09:38 PM)Shane Wrote: You need to work on the lighting more and defining the smudge more. ( I am the kind of person that focuses on one thing until its mastered, meaning I was focusing on the smudging ) The blending work is something I am not familiar with as this is my second smudge signature, as I tend to use methods which I cannot use on a smudge signature when I blend a render. ( Which is what I am currently working on ) The colors, borders and text are all subjective ( well the entire signature is really ) so I will stay to what I like on that... I would have posted it in the sub-section, but I wanted the meaning of the entire community on this one. RE: Designify | Smud Signature - Soup - 11-17-2013 I don't see why you can't post it in both places (: RE: Designify | Smud Signature - Kureo - 11-18-2013 (11-17-2013, 09:52 PM)Shane Wrote: I don't see why you can't post it in both places (: Now, that could easily be taken as spam, couldn't it?... =S RE: Designify | Smud Signature - Soup - 11-19-2013 (11-18-2013, 10:20 AM)Shroud Wrote:(11-17-2013, 09:52 PM)Shane Wrote: I don't see why you can't post it in both places (: I suppose but it can be easily justified. For one, the majority of threads in a design group's sub-forum should be RMG threads. I don't see anything wrong with it being posted twice. You could want CnC from people both in the group and not in the group since we all have our own opinions. RE: Designify | Smud Signature - Cosmic - 11-19-2013 The only way to improve is to experiment Well done man, it looks nice. RE: Designify | Smud Signature - Exiled - 11-19-2013 How long did it take you to do that? It looks pretty decent, actually. I didn't take the time, but somewhere between 5-10 minutes is what I would've guessed. |
