Depends way too much on major, some fields are going to be very hard to break into without a degree.

I technically dropped out, but I was working in the field of my studies before I went to Uni, so had experience going for me

If someone else is funding your degree, hell no. Get that damn degree. If you have to put yourself through school for something u dont care for, get out of there and figure out how you're gonna make it in life.
