Uh, the news spread pretty fast, although I remain unnamed. Only friends of mine (and people that saw me get cuffed) know that the person in question was me.

Yea, I was thinking about going to it but I woke up far too late.

Quote:Melbourne Police spoke with the student who supposedly wrote the email, but they determined he didn’t have any involvement with it, according to Sgt. Sheridan Shelley.

There were no arrests.

University Spokesman Wes Sumner said the lockdown lasted less than 90 minutes, and that it appears to have been a hoax. They’re holding classes and activities as usual, though with a “heightened sense of security.”

Police will continue to investigate and try to determine the origin of the threat.

My question is, who has it out for you? Seems like a big risk, swatting you for whatever they feel you did. The cops know you weren't involved, now they are after they guy who was.

The penalty for this is up to 5 years in jail. They will find them unless they have a very good VPN.

Or, you know; they could just use Tor.

Or have a decent amount of intelligence and a car.

I'm sure my school's gotten several of these recently... too bad I alerted them in advance.

It happens to a lot of people. Obviously they closed the investigation on me, but they opened one on the people who did it.

So does that mean everything is fine now for you? I can't imagine police in front of you're house. What was the feeling at first? XD
