@Oni - How did Sinisterly come about 11 years ago, did someone give you the idea/motivate you to create your very own forum, or was it something you were always keen on doing? What made you come up with the forum name, Sinisterly?

The forum was originally spawned from an old chat group. Around the time, there were a lot of forums in the same niche. After using several other forums I didn't like, I decided to make my own with the help of friends. I've always loved running communities, game servers, and similar. I can't recall exactly how we picked the name, but I believe there was a poll when we chose. Not sure if it was the best choice, but the name stuck.

It's crazy to think that this place is 11 years old now. To put that into context that length of time, my first post ever was August 17th, 2013. While I was a user that came from a merge, it was one of the much earlier merges, that being from CodeCommunity (which then merged into DiscussionZone). The merge that brought me here was announced in October of 2013. To even further contextualize this, I'm 22 now. That means that I joined SL specifically when I was 12 years old. I grew up here to a degree, and this place was a large part of my teenage years. I definitely took breaks, some by choice and others somewhat not because I was a dumbass. I don't post nearly as much as I did then, and a lot of things have changed, with both myself and with the forum. Looking back at previous posts, there is a bunch of things I would like to go back and change, or outright delete. I was young, ignorant, much less experienced than I am now, especially in regards to programming, which is my main hobby now. It's funny to look back at and laugh. A lot of friends have been made, and some lost here.
Here's to another 11.

Time makes fools of us all. If someone doesn't read their old posts and recoil, they haven't changed as a person. Happy to delete posts occasionally, but we were all 12 once and it's normal.
