Virtualbox because it's free and can accomplish what I use it for.

Well I use VirtualBox because it's free, but I would assume VMWare is better because if it requires money then clearly there would be more features and a more maintained, secure program.

I like the GUI of virtualbox, and both seem to have some options the other is lacking. But without solid USB drivers for wifi, VMWare takes a huge lead for that fact alone.

If it wasn't for the driver issue, I probably would say close tie and possibly even VirtualBox would be the winner.

In response to Cake: "2: It's made by oracle (creators of java)" I just have to say that really is nothing to brag about. They have been changing their software licensing terms to pretty much screw over it's customers. Plus their long history of javascript security problems that can be traced back several years after a problem is found, leaving the security aspect of this company a complete failure. But, used in-house only, java is very impressive(and great for maliciously exploiting against idiots who are not security aware)

Cick an entry > settings > network > attached to > bridged adapter > name >WiFi USB Device(name may vary)

also I change my opinion on VMWare, although it may be paid, it also means its source code is also not public, increasing the chance of of a smelly backdoor like one guy here posted a link to a backdoor.

3: It's fast and responsive.

Unlike Java.

Vmware. Free, useful, with little to no bugs. For example, I can't emulate Bluetooth with virtual box but vmware works fine.

RE: VirtualBox vs VMWare - joeroot - 07-10-2014

VMWARE is good best for OS running and best for exploiting Smile

RE: VirtualBox vs VMWare - Asura - 07-10-2014

I prefer VMware. Virtual box is alright though.

RE: VirtualBox vs VMWare - Size - 07-10-2014

Both are pretty decent solutions Biggrin

RE: VirtualBox vs VMWare - Oni - 07-10-2014

Virtualbox. It's just better in my opinion. I've used both.

RE: VirtualBox vs VMWare - Cressi - 07-10-2014

I use VirtualBox, and haven't had many problems with it. I mainly love it because I like the GUI, and it has excellent community support.

RE: VirtualBox vs VMWare - Pr0Wolf29 - 08-13-2014

I use VirtualBox. It's less buggy, has a better UI, and my VMs don't breat from updates.
