I encrypt all my PC with Truecrypt. Makes me in a safe as possible position. Although, I keep any important files in an external hard drive hidden under my floor. Tongue If I'm doing any hacking etc, I'll boot into Mini XP, and use the external to get all my data off = untraceable.

EVERYONE needs to follow this tutorial who's new, TC is the best out there. But it's all useless if you don't have the rest done, making a tutorial on complete anti-forensics when Anar makes the section.

Doesn't anybody understand what this thread is for?

This is for Crypting Folders and Files and whole hard drives so people cannot read them or access them without a specific password, the algorithms are almost impossible to crack.. This is NOT FOR CRYPTING A VIRUS!

i think some of the confusion is the language. "crypting" and "encrypting" in casual conversation refer to two different things. one is hiding malicious code the other is for storing away personal documents/movies/pictures/ect.

anyhow im a big fan of truecrypt myself and have been using it for years. i haven't ever had the need to encrypt an entire HDD yet so i haven't messed around with that stuff. ive seen plenty HDDs get corrupted just by normal use i wouldn't want to add an extra layer of potential failure to my own system when its just me who uses it.

"crypting" is slang for encrypting. Crypting a virus is encrypting the file to mask its signature.
