RE: How to Crypt a Harddrive or Folder - Sentry - 09-09-2012 I encrypt all my PC with Truecrypt. Makes me in a safe as possible position. Although, I keep any important files in an external hard drive hidden under my floor. If I'm doing any hacking etc, I'll boot into Mini XP, and use the external to get all my data off = untraceable.

RE: How to Crypt a Harddrive or Folder - ๖ۣۣۜۜFear - 09-11-2012 EVERYONE needs to follow this tutorial who's new, TC is the best out there. But it's all useless if you don't have the rest done, making a tutorial on complete anti-forensics when Anar makes the section. Depending on what Virus Protection they have. i think some of the confusion is the language. "crypting" and "encrypting" in casual conversation refer to two different things. one is hiding malicious code the other is for storing away personal documents/movies/pictures/ect. anyhow im a big fan of truecrypt myself and have been using it for years. i haven't ever had the need to encrypt an entire HDD yet so i haven't messed around with that stuff. ive seen plenty HDDs get corrupted just by normal use i wouldn't want to add an extra layer of potential failure to my own system when its just me who uses it. "crypting" is slang for encrypting. Crypting a virus is encrypting the file to mask its signature. |
