RE: How To Clean Your PC Like GeekSquad! - Hexology - 08-10-2013 On the last step now, But I gotta say I think this did something, the combofix was definitely the most sketchy application though; It wasn't telling me any information, and kept popping up with warnings that they're not responsible for what happens to your computer 'o.O. CCleaner got rid of about 2.1gb of random stuff. and Unhide found a shitload of files on my desktop which added up to over 50gb loool. Overall this helped a lot, so thanks (P.S. You should be in the TechSperts group )

RE: How To Clean Your PC Like GeekSquad! - lapras - 08-23-2013 I cant believe people actually pay Geeksquad to set up there COnsoles and CLean their PC's RE: How To Clean Your PC Like GeekSquad! - Cake - 08-23-2013 Malewarebytes has the same + alot more definitions that avira and kasperky do, so those steps are not needed. For the rest you could just run TFC by old timer and run a defragment. Good try tho. The purpose of the thread was to show what common practice in the industry is for virus removal. Malwarebytes has often missed detections that one of the others have managed to pick up, so using them all together generally works for me. RE: How To Clean Your PC Like GeekSquad! - Nvidia - 08-25-2013 Geek Squad sucks. If you want the computer to run smooth, use very few select programs such as CCleaner, MalwareBytes and Auslogics Boostspeed. I use those 3 and that's it. It's even recommended to do a boot scan with a security program. Defrag when necessary and clean out temp files. No need for a bunch of programs. It will just add more junk you don't need. |
