From there I render it as an uncompressed .avi file and put it into adobe after effects. From there I render it again as .avi (uncompressed) and use handbrake on it. Also I edit at 300-1500 fps clips.

Nice, must be a pain in the ass to render though if you're working with clips with those frame rates. I never knew HDPVR's recorded at above 60fps...
I edit PC. It takes 300 screenshots of the game every second (via AVI Demo) then I have them put into a .avi file at the fps I recorded at. Also rendering doesn't take long at all when you have 16gb of corsair vengeance, FX 8350, and 2 Radeon HD 7870 ghz editions. Smile

Ah, that explains it Tongue

I would edit more but I'm currently using a laptop which really isn't the best for editing and visual effects. Getting a custom build within the next couple of months though.

I can help you pick out parts and such for your custom build and lead you through the building process if needed.

Thanks!

I'm kind of new to PC building but have came up with this build:

i7-3370K
GTX 760 2GB
16GB RAM (2x8)
ASRock Z77 LGA 1155
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
700W PSU
Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case

I'm a bit undecided on brands for certain parts yet, but I've got a rough idea.

Uhm Intel is bad for rendering imo. I'd go with AMD you'll save and you'll be able to render faster + you'll only get like 4 less frames in video games. Also AMD makes very good graphics cards for the price as well.

I heard you get better value for money with AMD, but I also heard that there is no AMD equivalent to the i7? I'll definitely check some of the benchmark comparisons for rendering.

The 8350 is the I7 equivalent and the Phenom Series is the I5 equivalent. Who ever tells you otherwise is stupid.

I looked up a comparison:

http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-3770K-vs-AMD-FX-8350

The i7 seems better here, although the AMD gives much better value for money. I'll need to see nearer the time.

Yes but when rendering I promise you the 8350 will smoke the i7 especially if you overclock it.

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind.

It'll be another couple of months so I'll make my decision then and see how much money I have in total.
