It was decades ago, so I don't remember exactly why I was named as such.

I've always wondered is it like "fathered" as in I was fathering him. But mothered obviously.

I must admit, my username is the same. A friend introduced me to this board many years ago. There was a joke going round that people would not be allowed to use the forum's Skype group chat (yes it was that many years ago we used Skype) without having a forum account. Therefore they made me this account, with this username, and it's stuck ever since.

Well ain’t that interesting, yeah I have 3 go to usernames and yaiba is definitely one I use a lot. Your name definitely sticks tho, cant see you with any other name.

Yaiba is a nice name.

It's odd to think everyone has their own real names off this board. I have met a few people IRL over the years, and often end up using board names to address each other, as it's hard to imagine them being called anything but.

Always loved Japanese folklore and the creatures (tengu/kitsune/etc.). Modern caricatures tend to show Oni in a humorous manner (silly/drunken), which contrasts how older literature showed them (savage/evil).
