A dermatologist knows best. He/she should've certainly sorted out your condition.

Do you have a follow-up appointment? If not, see another dermatologist.
smart and safe
Dermatologists obviously specialize In skin conditions, so I'm surprised the OP's consultation was pretty much useless.

Do the following:
Change your clothes often,
Cut out sugary drinks, carbs etc. Know your maintenance calories, etc. Excess shit gets turned into fat, and sugars. Drink nothing but mostly water. Sugar free shit has high sodium.
Run at least a mile daily.
Dont touch your face, and bathe at least twice a day.
For sensitive, and dry skin use repair lotion, and sunscreen.

No excuses are valid here.
If none of this works; Get accutane from the dermatologist.

If this doesn't work you're beyond help.

Wash your face every morning and night, dont touch your face, dont fiddle with your acne, use scrub to get rid of the blackheads on your nose/cheeks

Try to go on an oil free diet and avoid using too many skincare products. I would be especially careful of dermatologists because they can prescribe many things that makes the skin worse. Proper sunlight, sleep, and a whole foods plant based diet are what I recommend.

I second not using too many skin care products. It gets too overwhelming for the skin. This doesn't always work for everyone but you can't go wrong with cleanser and moisturizer, maybe toner as well. The ocassional mask is fine too.

There are some exceptions to this. Some people have genetic conditions that can cause issues that the above (very good) recommendations can't solve. A lot of issues can revolve around diet as well (i.e. Diary is awful for your skin, as is drinking coffee I believe).

People I know who regularly speak to their dermatologists haven't been prescribed anything but one thing (something to get rid of a bacterial infection, so not a plethora of products) but they did recommend what to watch out for when buying any skincare products. For example, if you buy something with Vitamin C, that can be dangerous to use without sunscreen, as vitamin c can enhance the damage to skin caused by sun exposure. Information like that can be very useful and point you in the right direction.

I think hyaluronic acid moisturisers are widely recommended, but as with anything, check with a professional first. No 2 people's skin are the same.

I have oily skin. And taking care of my skin is not as difficult as I thought it would be.

Dermatologists are trained to go by the book which results to poisonous prescriptions. All acne related medications are terrible. This is from someone who has come from roaccutane which has resulted in acne popping up in the places you definitely wouldn’t want to once stopped.

Diet & lifestyle is key. Dairy, sugar, sauce & oil are killers. Keep bed sheets (mainly pillows) clean. Shower morning and night. Chemical face washes & soaps always made me worse. The only thing that helped was diluting Hibiscrub with water as a 50/50 mix helped. Have fruit after you eat meals. Try to do a fast where you only drink fresh fruit juice for most of the day.
If you have the funds look to have a appointment with a naturopath who will advise life changes specifically for you, I unfortunately never but they most probably will recommend same as above.

Best of luck but acne really shows problems deeper within, mainly gut health.
