Configs won't have malware. Leech programs and checker programs could possible have malware though. But if you use OpenBullet2 from Github as your checker, you'll be fine.

You did not say that, you said you wanted to know how to do it and there are threads here that show you easy ways. The way it works is simple and doesn't really take much effort. It's a tool for script kiddies. It just uses proxies to check logins. It's really loud and draws attention.

No, but be wary of executables that are suspiciously large and tools that seem too good to be true. Malware is a real threat when you are cracking.

To address the original question, traditional methods should not cause direct harm to your machine. Proper temperatures/maintenance of your hardware will likely be sufficient for typical use. I'd be more wary of the possibility of malware or similar.

This sounds stupid but I was thinking of getting a VPS with hardcore specs and doing the cracking there, get a good script, good set of proxies and off you go, what do you think about my opinion guys? Please enlighten me.
