That friend of a friend, SWIM tells me that it's still the same old stuff on alphabay, run of the mill, no different than any other market. There's apparently vendors using alphabay that also use more 'reputable' markets so take that as you will. Obviously no weapons/illegal wank banks (nicely enough). But yeah, really your biggest potential threat on something like that is an exit scam.

Had a look around and it seems that still some of the same vendors are in business and back on the site.

Read an article saying that their changes in policy was one reason to be suspicious.
They used to sell fenny and guns but now they dont...
At that time fenny wasnt as well known, under such heat and killing staggering amounts of people every day.
They want to be in operation and make money, not bring unnecessary heat on themselves.
Its the same as other dnms who decided a long time ago not to sell guns.
Seeing as there have been changes in who manages the site, it would not be suprising they have a change in policy.

Not sure about other countries, but the US in particular has been targeting fetanyl (both media/LE). It's kind of a phenomenon, because at safe doses it's no different than the other opiates people are prescribed legally.

Isnt the risk of overdosing coming from the fact that it is so strong and therefore hard to dose correctly?
Not so popular outside of the US yet but there are reports that contaminated drugs are being found in Europe as well.

Guns have always been a priority for LE and several stings were conducted via the dark net so imo it makes sense that they do not include those products on their boards.
