isnt this a hacking forum? IRC is not dead, many people still use it. you make it sound like its weird to even suggest it.
and you maybe misinterpreted my text, but Im not asking for an entire sinisterly IRC channel,
all Im asking for is to be able to link your IRC in the 'contact' info. wouldnt you like to have that? also, as an option for us who dont use discord.
There's no reason to segment the forum's communication further and we aren't going to advertise other IRCs. One of the biggest drawbacks of IRC is actually its limitations with regards to direct messages and message history.
Oftentimes I'll think about deleting the Discord, so I'm not really interested in expanding on outside communications. We've used IRC since 2013 and only stopped a couple of years ago. I understand that you weren't here for that, but you can read the old threads and learn my reasoning.
