Beautiful, but boring.

Horizon authentically could have benefited more from a denser map. All the towns feel equipollent, all the land feels equipollent, all the enemy encounters feel the same (though seeing the different robot designs is still cool).

Not going to lie, I think that's the first time I've heard the word "equipollent" and I had to google it xD

So, is there not enough variation between regions of the map?

All games are like this. Every gaming engine prepares the same environment for viewing every time it renders your screen in front of you. It's not new.
