I see.

If there Isn't a plate on the underside of the unit (where the Ram Is stored), then yes, the keyboard will need to be removed which can be a complex process.

I shall leave it to experts and stick with my tower. I am tempted to upgrade my RAM for my main machine, though. I think I also need to upgrade to an SSD. I've got some old 3TB HD and 16GB RAM on that one.

Good move.

If you haven't done It before, It's not a straightforward process.

Believe me, you won't regret It.

The boot up & shutdown times will significantly decrease, and read/write operations will also be a lot faster.

Gosh, so true! I just don't think I'll be able to afford a 3TB SSD to replace that amount of well-used storage from the HDD. And it's running ok. So I think it's more of a want than an actual NEED. Plus, I've not seen that machine since 2019 as it resides at Oni's place (thanks pandemic).
What would be a good SSD to look into? There's so many options too. I'd need something reliable as possible within a fair budget. (Those chinese knock-offs on amazon won't fool me lol).

A much cheaper and better option Is to purchase an enclosure, whereby you'd place your current HDD In the enclosure Itself and run It as an external storage. That Is, an external HDD.

The SSD can replace your PC's HDD as the boot drive and If need be, It can also be used for Internal storage.

Yes, do not opt for the good ol' Chinese alternatives. You cannot afford corruption of your sensitive data.

In terms of SSDs and without the tech jargon, I've been running both Samsung and Toshiba and they've served me very well Indeed.

That actually sounds like a great idea! My machine actually has more than enough slots for have multiple drives in there. However, since I mostly use up that space with video games.. I may have to just save up for the bigger SSD after all xD I'll keep in mind Samsung and Toshiba though! Thank you very much.
