In other forums a user can press bump button every 24 hours to make his posts bump up. So he don't have to post his request or product again and again. Bumping posts give more visibility to people who come online everyday.
While bumping posts doesn't harm anyone, it does flood the latest posts only with the marketplace bumps, which isn't great for true discussion or high quality activity. If you check our rules section, we actually have restrictions and recommendations over how much someone can bump their thread because it was happening too much. However, there are opportunities for advertising that can be discussed with Oni via PM.

If we were just a market site, I'd be all over this suggestion. As we are not solely a market, I can see this being frustrating for other members who want to see other content.

The official rule is only once every 2-3 days, as I understand sellers want buyers to know they're alive and ready to take orders. However, people should try to spice things up (rather than just write "bump!"). If someone is in the first 3 pages of the Buyer or Seller sections, you can assume they are taking orders. For those that are obsessed with being at the top, we offer stickies.
So the rules say one bump for every 2-3 days? If so, I have to change my bumping interval time. Please let me know I don't want to break the rules of the platform.

@mothered told me that once a week. Ask from him.

Sorry mate, but I have to disagree.
I first saw it on [redacted]. Take a look.
You saw this on that forum? That's what you mean?

That's holds for the threads posted in the "Regular Sales" forum, please read it carefully next time.

In terms of the Market category, It applies to the Regular Sales forum- only If changes are not made to sales/services.

It's against our rules and advertising policy to link/reference competitive forums.

As such, I've removed It.

For further clarification, if you suddenly have a new contact email/tag or there's a new website, or massive update in the service or stock you have available, we of course won't delete posts or warn you for posting an update. But if you're just writing "bump" or something to that effect and you have 10+ pages of posts where you've bumped, it can be hard for the buyer to find any actually useful information from the thread. If anyone vouches/leaves reviews, they'll get lost in the sea of bumps. I hope this rule will help sellers post more effectively and creatively.

Wouldnt it show the original forum thread instead of the most recent post when you click on a thread though?

Depends on what you click. The latest posts section on the main page of SL will take you to the most recent post.

I'm of the opinion personally that threads should be bumped only by vouches or some sort of actual input so I'm more of a traditional view as well. But to play a bit of devil's advocate: if the bump button only worked every 2-3 days and didn't make a reply under the thread for the bump and it just shifted the thread to the top of the section, it could make market threads a bit more organized. Instead of threads where every page is just bumps with maybe customer input once every second page or so, it could tidy threads up so when you go in a market thread it's just customer opinions and questions (or actual updates from the seller) while still maintaining the ability to bump to reduce duplicate threads.

Ah, that makes sense then.
