RE: Covid-19 and Misinformation - phyrrus9 - 12-18-2020 Such a scary virus, the apocalypse shall happen anytime now.
Irony is not an argument ... I agree that most gov's didn't reacted or communicated well about it and most people haven't real severe symptoms but some did andĀ without pre-existing conditions or being 80 years old. Also no actual specialized drug for it is on the market and if the healthcare system is full as in many countries are sure that you or peopleĀ close to you will be fine?!
I hate that argument so much. It isn't government's job (or shouldn't be) to keep you safe. It's government's job to ensure that your rights are protected, and all I've seen government do is take people's rights away. Have a look at the data. The numbers of people who died from flu is significantly lower than those who died from this virus. Yes, many get it and don't even know it. Yes, there is a massive majority who it doesn't make a big difference to. Yes, underlying conditions make a larger effect. However, it is more deadly than the flu and it is real. I've seen and know people who died from it. Perhaps it will take you watching someone close to you to get hurt for you to take it seriously and not swallow some of the conspiracy nonsense. I hope that doesn't happen and you can continue to live in ignorance. RE: Covid-19 and Misinformation - mothered - 12-20-2020 (12-20-2020, 09:30 AM)Boudica Wrote: Have a look at the data. RE: Covid-19 and Misinformation - Boudica - 12-20-2020 If you don't trust the BBC, here's a separate source explaining the difference between the risks and mortality rate of influenza vs covid-19.
