i think that mega will be a long time. the reason (for me) is that MEGA deletes the file with a report and the other reason why I think this is that MEGA promises to have encrypted all its contents, that was something that made it clear from the beginning, to avoid takedowns.
Either way, one can never know if they will do something. For that reason, I already downloaded the most important thing I had there.

Agree.
Mega has certainly learned their lesson since the last takedown, and have Implemented measures (when It was officially launched) to make sure It's not repeated.

i've actually used MEGA for a long time now (like 5 years), and a had my account wipped out but i iddn't know why, it might have been because of gouvernment restrictions making mega resetting all their servers idk, however, the thing with MEGA is that it is very-well encryted, like what SomeOrdinaryGamer said, if a gouvernment wants to check what a user has uploaded on MEGA, MEGA is just going to send them encrypted file because they can't even access it
however, i don't really understand how they cannot access it, cannot they save keys in an encrypted form that can be use to track user actions or something like that, if they had, that'll be good and bad because the gouvernment will be allow to literally track anybody using MEGA, which is going to make it less used because its reputation is going to drop (or if a db leak happens). But it is also a good idea to save user's key because that will allow the staff to see what suspicious user upload to the platform, making the platform away from danger (in terms of legal actions and from it being shutted down again)
i mainly use MEGA because of how simple it is to use, it is not the best but is (i think) way better than OneDrive or Google Drive, if you're trying to be private but use OneDrive or Google Drive, you just busted yourself because both companies can easily have access to users file (even encrypted), this is why i prefer using MEGA (im also that type of guy that uses 2000 dodgy software that no one knows about instead of using something which is made by google, facebook or microsoft)
Privacy in today's world is really important, people love it as much as facebook likes using people's data, this is partially why for example, surveys apps tells you to enter your real details, this is because 99% of the time, your data is going to be sold to other companies to attract you buying products & services from them.
but anyway, MEGA is currently (and was always) in a scary situation due to users not following the ToS and posting CP on it, i just hope it last long enough for everyone to understand how MEGA is different from other cloud storage

I'm running two blogs that only contain cracking/hacking tools and the like, and seldom (If ever) have I experienced their content removed. I've just checked a few links dating back 5 years, and they're still active.

Remember that MEGA is not from the same owner, Dotcom is out since a long time so... maybe that's one the reasons, i think they can track back in some cases (like some sources codes & sensitive content requested to be out) cause of some strange things that i have seen in related accounts last four months (of some friends), maybe we need to go deep?
