Software engineering is obviously always going to be in demand. Without anyone to write software, all computers in the world are effectively useless. In fact, plenty of modern cars rely on the field too.

Obvious things aside, if you'd like to hear about a language I think has good potential, Rust. It sounds pretty cliché to bring it up, sure, but it has broken a lot of ground. It's a very scientific feeling language with a lot of concepts that can be unfamiliar to even experts in a lot of other languages, but it's incredibly performant, like a completely type-safe cousin of C++ without all of C++'s syntax awkwardness and generally depressing design.

You should take a look. The very act of trying to learn it made me a better engineer in general, I'd say.

In my opinion it is JavaScript and it also will be for quite a long time because frameworks come out literally everyday
