The VPN is useless is your computer was already hacked. Btw, no one can "hack your IP". With a VPN you hide your IP. Apart from that, avoid executing untrusted source files, disable javascript, browse in a virtual machine... If your facebook / email was hacked: format the computer, change your passwords and don't use the same pass for more than 1 site.
