Thank you so much for these recommendations!

Even though I'm young and still have a bunch to learn, I honestly believe that educating yourself on as many topics as you can handle is a good recipe for being successful in life. I'm not sure what I want to take up next, but it's more than likely going to be my CNA certification. I want to take up Business sometime soon as well, and probably relearn coding languages.

I believe basic public education is must for development of your character and knowledge. How you use the knowledge gained later depends on the field you work. Here's where self education plays an important part. Many times I have wondered if what I learnt in school have helped me! I certainly couldn't figure it out still. But being updated on your current job and by getting training through possibly you tube or other ways, you certainly are improving your chances of getting that coveted promotion possibly.

Some things need to be taught and that can be achieved by going to school. Some things can be self taught probably at a later stage but surely not when children are quite young.

Formal education in a school environment is very important for a child as it helps the child to mingle with other children and slowly teaches them how to gel in a society.

In self education, we miss out social aspects of learning. It requires incredible amounts of continuous determination and motivation. Eventually public education is the best when compared to self education.

I would say both Public education and self education has its own importance. Public education is necessary for your career growth, for getting that coveted job. Self education at the same time is important factor in developing your character. Not everything is taught in schools and colleges. Our character, discipline all depend on your upbringing and knowledge imparted by elders and your well wishers.

I believe it's best to get both. Don't rely on educational institutes to teach you everything they are freaking sloths. So just go for focusing more on self development. I didn't learn any bit of coding from university. I just learned it and did it. So yeah it goes for other skills as well.

I absolutely agree with you. It seems to me that after I finished primary school, I became more involved in self-education and self-education. The school only helped me a little in this and I received my dose of socialization. At [link redacted] I periodically read interesting materials on sociology, including school and university education.

For your first question, it depends on which country you live at, considering each country has different needs, purposes, and curriculums, the results may vary. For example, if your country has rich natural resources, your country will benefit from people with related degrees and correct knowledge. Let's say that Geological (and it's siblings) Engineering for countries that has rich mineral resources, Farming for agricultural countries, etc. Don't forget that everyone still benefit from Critical Thinking class, Financial Management class, Risk Management knowledge, Tax knowledge, and Emotional Management class.

For your second question, it depends on your conditions too. From my own botched college and messy work (legal or otherwise) experiences, i could boil it down to these 4 points :
- Are you or your family financially struggling?
(Whatever study you choose, can you or your family afford it? And if you or your family is struggling, is this study a good investment for your future?)
- What does your country needs?
(If you seek an employment, which field that has constant need of workforce in your country? If you want to start business, which one that has the most market values in 4-10 years? Basically it comes down to, what people need and how you'll provide it)
- What's your skills?
(Are you good with people? Are you good with engines? Are you artistically talented? Are you great handling business? Are you physically gifted? Or you're good with academic fields?)
- What's your interests? (What kind of achievement that'll makes you satisfied with yourself? Does solving practical problems makes you happy? Does caring about natural life made you in peace? Does handling people's problem is your calling? Or you want to create something, a magnum opus that'll makes you proud of yourself?)
After considering thoroughly those 4 (add more if deemed necessary), then you could decide for yourself. Pro tip : whatever you choose, there'll be part of you that'll regret it, so choose wisely.

And so, we'll discuss the last question. For self study, the basic principles that i learnt are :
1. Prioritizes the ones that you need immediately
2. Learn it consistently (this is the hardest part for most people)
3. Take notes, humans are forgetful after all
4. Practices what you learned
5. Take a break moderately. Rests too few, and you'll be burn out in no time, rests too much, and you'll take too long before you master what you need.

Anyway, hope my answer help, good luck for everyone.
