I don't really like to jump to conclusions on something, I believe pretty much every story is just hallucinations, except for when I gets to the point where physical items start moving around.
I don't necessarily believe directly in ghosts, but I am very open to the idea of them.

I've only seen shadows as well on a silhouette of a young child. That was when I was in high school, I saw it in our room standing in a corner of a bookshelf. It's really frightening to see one, even the student from the adjacent class has seen it as well.
I'm really thrilled we don't have any scary entity on our house. I wouldn't be able to last if there is. I commend your bravery OP for lasting long during your childhood.
