How are they? I've heard they are really gimmicky.

I love mine. I stream games from my PC all the time, and with a Mod for it as long as I have a half decent Wifi connection and my PC is on, I can stream games up to 100 miles without lag, though the Internet that your PC is connected to has to be really good. As for the current Shield designed game selection on it, I am loving it. I play San Andreas on it all the time and it's great, albeit the prices are kind of ridiculous on some games, they're still fun. As for the ROMs, as long as you have an SD Card so you can hold your ROMs since the Shield only has 16GBs of Storage, then you're set. The Emulator selection is awesome, and I've experienced very few issues with the emulators, though I did download a DS one and it deleted all my saves after 4 or 5 hours of playing. I'd rate it an 8/10. I docked 1 point for small storage space, and I docked another point because my Shield came without the top part (The magnetic 'Shield' that is replaceable) and I had to order a new one from Newegg.

I'm running a custom build of AOSP + patches for my particular phone model Smile

Looks crap and they advertise its huge selling point, at least in the mobile version of that page, as just the camera.

The camera looks like they tried a little too hard, or makes it look a little bulky.

I'm fine with my phone with two cameras. Dont need a rotating one, I have hands that can do the same with just turning the phone.
