This depends on what i am using it for if just in general i will use lubuntu 14.10 lxde for the reason that it is super fast
if i was hacking or doing some pentesting i would be using backtrack 5r3, bugtraq 2, witch bugtraq 2 has remote administration tools on witch is good for people using dark comet ect also it has some botnets and some spreaders ect very good distro for a beggineer getting into hacking with a linux distro
