Ubuntu, i am a coder and I mainly code in JAVA and occasionaly HTML with CSS, JQuery, etc., and Ubuntu supports lots of great softwares and extras that is only availale for Ubuntu.
It also has a lot of great compatibilities with software used in Kali.
Ubuntu is the best distro for me.

I use crunchbang as my main OS. I get way more out of my specs and it's minimal, very nice to use. If crunchbang doesn't have driver support for a machine, I'll use mint. For a server, I like debian or ubuntu, makes little difference since rented servers don't have hardware issues to worry about, I'm just more familiar with the commands and I find them stable.
