There are some big cons (such as not being able to snap the taskbar to the sides or top of the screen, or right clicking menu only brings up Windows essentials which is not ideal when you have other programs running) so just extra steps compared to Windows 10. I plan to use 10 until its no longer supported (October 14, 2025).

these are the important things

I have upgraded my pc to windows 11 and so far i like it, you will eventually adapt to the changes they made so it doesnt matter if its different.
The only downsides are the constant pushing down your throat of edge

Agreed.

From the moment I Installed Windows 11, I loved Its overall usability. It's fast, stable and responsive.

The Good:
  • UI effects are better - rounded corners, background blur on context menus, etc.
  • Icon set is cleaner - crisper and more appealing, with a pop
  • New task view is great - helpful for managing a bunch of processes

The Weird:
  • Everything is centered - including taskbar icons and the lockscreen clock, doesn't fit some wallpapers
  • Start menu has been modified - 11's start menu gets rid of some of the quirks of 10, but brings its own as well
  • Reminds me of Ubuntu's newer UI - might have been 10 years ago, but Ubuntu had modernized their UI

The Bad:
  • They force you to use a Microsoft account initially -  swapping to a local account takes some poking around, creepy
  • Settings and menus have been moved/rearranged - certain menus and settings have been removed or relocated, awkward
  • TPM 2.0 must be enabled for installation - if your motherboard/BIOS is non-compliant it's unsupported, annoying

They have also removed Tablet Mode. Quite disappointing as now i cannot use the Tablet mode on my 2 in 1 Laptop. Wasted my money.

I do not have any complaints. Like all new Windows versions, people are incline to repine about how egregious it is until the next version when it becomes "the best ever" and then do not upgrade because they think the newer version, which they have not tried, is awful.

There's a lot of complaining. I've used every version, but there's a deserved hatred for earlier stages of Windows 8. The start menu was terrible and the entire thing was designed with tablets in mind.

Realistically used up to 98, but I did mess with 3.1.

Windows 95 & 98 were an awesome OS In their time.

I still have an ISO copy of Windows 3.1 which I created from Floppy - It's only 8.5MB.
