If you are lazy like me....go for an apartment but do not rent it as it is a criminal waste of money.

I would prefer a house if I really did have so much money to buy one. Probably I will move into a house before my retirement. For now I am happy with my apartment. Though not very cheap, it is quite spacious for me and family.

I did love living in an apartment, but with a house you build equity, etc.... although with that comes the upkeep, etc.

As it stands now, many people can't even afford more than renting an apartment with others.

Given the state of the COVID-19 situation, unfortunately lack of affordability Is expected to continue Into the foreseeable future.

IMHO, if you are a young adult or living life alone then an apartment is worth it. If you have a family, a house is ideal since you would mind others instead of just yourself.

I can agree with this, when you're young/single, circumstances can change. Owning the actual property can tie you down, and it takes a long time to sell a house. If you have an apartment, you have the option of moving out if your situation changes (i.e. marrying/kids).

Some apartments are spacious with 3 bedrooms, that can well and truly accommodate a family of four.

A few years ago I would've said apartment to be more involved with the things in the city. But now I would love to live in a small town or even a remote location as long as there is a decent WiFi connection. Bigger population = unsafe, and typically restrictions as far as my rights. Small towns tend to have more respect for the community and the property of others, as well as respect for the police. I also want to be able to grow my own vegetables and become self-sufficient, which is basically impossible to do in the city.
